I’m happy to discuss custom cabinet design options or circuit modifications to twist/bend the amplifier voicing.
Padauk Head Cabinet
I have done a few head cabinets using exotic woods. This cab is made of padauk. The wood finish, working VU meters, leather grill, and brass tacks give it a bit of a “days gone by” vibe. Not steampunk, just archaic.
Zebra Wood Head Cabinet
This zebra wood cab is a real eye-catcher! The gold faceplates blend right in. This is a cab that definitely looks better without corner protectors.
Soul Tramp Tweed 5F1
A tweed 5f1 is not part of my product line, but I have built several on special request. I wanted to stay true to Leo’s genius, but Soul Tramp it. The cabinet is oversize to hold the 10 Weber alnico. And like all my tweed cabinets, it’s finished to a beautiful gold hue. Mercury Magnetics transformers and SoZo Blue coupling caps add a nice bump to tone.
Oversize Tweed Head Cabinet
In addition to the standard Soul Tramp head cabinet, I’ve made an oversize tweed cabinet. It’s a pretty cabinet that stands out more and shows off the tweed.
Audiophile KT88 HIFI Mono-Blocks
I designed and built these mono-block for myself to handle the middle frequencies of my tri-amp stereo system. They are absolutely stunning! I had the transformer bells bold plated to match the zebra wood cabinet. I rebuilt the salvaged transformers from old Dynaco amps. Too many details to get into here.
Tabletop Guitar Amplifier
This is a 1937 Philco Streamline project I did just for fun. I thought it would be cool to convert an old trashed-out Philco radio into a table-top guitar amp. The radio was a basket case; the cabinet was falling apart, and the chassis/electronics were completely shot. I never did take a final picture with all the knobs put back on.
